Don't Get Intimidated! Yes, there is a lot to know. But you can get by on trial and error if you prefer not to study up. You can also be selective; start by growing just a few different flowers and learn about them. Go to the state or county fair and visit the flower displays. You'l learn a lot in a single day. In many parts of the country, you can find groups of people whose hobby is growing roses, proteas, or orchids. If that is what you are all about, find one of these groups. The people in them are more than happy to share and may be able to prevent you from making mistakes that are specific to your neighborhood.
